Crowns
Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres offer patients the opportunity to restore their beautiful smile and enhance functionality with custom-made crowns.
Crowns are used in restorative (or functional) and cosmetic dental treatments. A custom-made crown fits over the prepared existing natural tooth and replaces the natural crown, which is the part of the tooth that is visible above the gums.A new crown adds strength, durability and tooth stability, as well as enhancing the appearance of the tooth.
Crowns are often required when a tooth has been severely weakened and is no longer structurally sound due to tooth decay, previous root canal therapy or wear over time. This cosmetic dental treatment can also be used to brighten and improve the appearance of one’s smile by covering broken, chipped, stained or discoloured teeth or by modifying the shape of a tooth. Porcelain crowns are custom-made for each individual patient and can be matched to existing teeth making them a perfect cosmetic dental treatment option.
The process of constructing a crown generally requires two appointments with your dentist. During the firstappointment the existing tooth is prepared for the crown, impressions are taken and a temporary crown is placed over the prepared tooth. At the next visit, the temporary crown is replaced by the new crown which is fitted, adjusted and cemented in place, providing a more permanent natural looking aesthetic solution.
All procedures at Pacific Smiles Dental Care Centres are carried out using state-of-the-art equipment in modern, friendly facilities which offer the convenience of extended opening hours.
