Child Dental Benefits Schedule continues in 2016!

Did you know the Commonwealth Government has announced that the Child Dental Benefits Schedule will continue in 2016?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible children with a $1000 dental benefit to be used over a 2 calendar year period and covers selected services including: examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure seals, fillings, root canals and extractions.

To be eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule children must be eligible for Medicare, must be between 2 and 17 years of age for at least 1 day of the calendar year, and the child or parent/guardian or carer must receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or another relevant government payment. If your child was eligible in 2014 and received services it may be worthwhile checking their eligibility again as they may now be able to access a further $1000 to be used on selected dental services over another 2 consecutive years. For those who accessed their dental benefit in 2015, if you still have available benefits they can still be utilised in 2016.
