The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible children with a $1000 dental benefit to be used over a 2 calendar year period and covers selected services including: examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure seals, fillings, root canals and extractions.
To be eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule children must be eligible for Medicare, must be between 2 and 17 years of age for at least 1 day of the calendar year, and the child or parent/guardian or carer must receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or another relevant government payment. If your child was eligible in 2014 and received services it may be worthwhile checking their eligibility again as they may now be able to access a further $1000 to be used on selected dental services over another 2 consecutive years.
