Pacific Smiles Dental is pleased to announce Dr Angel Babu as the new paediatric dentist who will be working in our Waurn Ponds and Torquay centres providing specialist dental care to children and families.
As a registered Paediatric Dentist, Dr. Angel Babu has a strong passion for helping children of all ages and conditions improve their dental health. Her specialisations include behaviour management and clinical dentistry. She is a firm believer in motivating children in the prevention of dental problems so that they will carry a healthy smile through life. Widely known for her welcoming atmosphere, Dr. Angel Babu caters to both infants and growing children’s needs and has had excellent success working with special needs children.
Compelled with a vision to make a difference in dentistry practice for children, Dr. Angel Babu was inspired to specialise in Paediatric Dentistry, graduating from the prestigious University of Otago in New Zealand. As a fully licensed Paediatric Dentist, she has worked in both New Zealand and Australia. Her first role being a senior dental registrar at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. After graduating in 2016, she remained in New Zealand before moving to Belmont, Victoria (Geelong area), treating a wide range of patients, including those with complex medical and dental histories. She also treats under anaesthesia, oral sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Angel Babu is passionate about removing the stigma around dentistry for children through her study of behaviour management and dental trauma. Her special interests include dental problems related to sleep issues, dental management in children with high caries risk, hypomineralisation (chalky teeth) and all medically compromised/special needs children.
Outside of paediatric dentistry, Dr. Angel spends the weekend with her friends and family. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling to new places, cooking, and hiking.
